AFFIRMATIVE ACTIONS OF ENTRY: ETHNIC BORDERS, PROJECTS AND SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF QUILOMBOLA STUDENTS AT` UNIFESSPA
Main Article Content
Abstract
From the Affirmative Actions of the Federal University of Pará’s South and Southeastern (Unifesspa) to the entry of quilombolas in undergraduate courses, this article intends to analyze how inter-ethnic relations are configured in the University from the categories of Border used by Barth (2011) and Project (VELHO, 2003). Also, as it is represented by the quilombola students and their families in the process of self-recognition and affirmation of the quilombola identity. The research-participant methodology was used, with seven semi-structured interviews with quilombolas of varying degrees. As one of the conclusions, we identify "community cooperation" as one of the main drivers of university trajectory, because it activates precisely the notions of solidarity and ethnic belonging between the students, their family and the quilombola communities.
