PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICES IN ETHNO-RACIAL RELATIONS: IDENTITY AND MEMORY

Abstract
This research aims at evincing possible impacts caused by the implementation of the 10.639/03 Law on students. The theoretical perspective is framed by a multiculturalist critique, grounded on the notion that it is not possible to establish a hierarchy among human cultures. The article is the result of the monitoring of a 9th grade Education of Youth and Adults class, which was developed during five months in the discipline of Portuguese Language. The author focused on the use of media, photograph and film as the main teaching tools in the pedagogical practice. The framework for this study in the methodology research-action, which enables the research to be focused on the living experiences of individuals who build daily school life. This research seeks to highlight that the application of the Law in fact contributes to the overcoming of the situation of expatriation (not belonging to the place) to which students in several regions of Brazil are subjected.
