AFRO-DIASPORIC HERITAGE, STRUCTURAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CHALLENGES IN ANTI-RACIST PRACTICES IN SERGIPE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to share the structural and pedagogical challenges of anti-racist education in the State of Sergipe. Our corpus of investigation are the actions of the Portal da Cultura Afro-Sergipana, Kizomba dos Saberes organized by history teachers that aim to contribute to reflections on the heritage of the African diaspora in the human sciences, as well as revisiting actions of the Research Project Writings of Black Women in Diaspora for the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER) that we have developed at the Federal University of Sergipe in recent years. The objectives we aim to achieve are to contribute to the effective actions of Law 10,639/03, promoting fruitful debates about material and immaterial heritage in the teaching of Afro-Brazilian literature in the basic education curriculum from our enunciative locus. The chosen methodology is to problematize how challenging the journey from an anti-racist perspective has been, especially in revisiting the colonialist curriculum that is still imposed on undergraduate students and what our ancestral strategies have been to overcome various obstacles that arise in our daily lives.
