Main Article Content
Abstract
The text in question has the purpose of presenting terminological sheets prepared for a proposal for a Bilingual Alphabetic Lexicon in Libras and Portuguese, languages of different modalities. The central theme of the research developed addresses terms relevant to ethnic-racial discussions. The methodological procedure involved participation in several live broadcasts about these discussions during the years 2021 and 2022, a period marked by the Covid-19 pandemic. During these interactions, relevant terms were recorded to expand the Libras lexicon, with a special focus on the black Deaf community and all those interested in the area, aiming to contribute to the anti-racist fight through reflections that consider the intersectionality between race and deafness. As a result of this research, terminological sheets prepared for a proposal for a Bilingual Alphabetical Lexicon (Libras/Portuguese) are presented, which encompasses terms related to ethnic-racial discussions, addressing issues such as representation of the black Deaf community, the presence of Deaf/ to black people in bilingual training and teaching, as well as the educational trajectory of this subject in general, aiming to meet the guidelines of Law No. 10,639, of January 9, 2003, which deals with the teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture. It is important to highlight that the expansion of linguistic research, especially in the creation of materials in Libras, plays an essential role in the integration of Deaf people in different spheres of knowledge. This study, by carrying out a survey of term signs in the field of ethnic-racial discussions for the elaboration of terminological records in Libras, seeks to contribute to a better understanding of these terms by the black Deaf community, highlighting the importance of disseminating terminologies pertinent to this area whenever possible, considering the predominantly visual nature of the Deaf information channel.
