Abstract
Providing differentiated and interdisciplinary activities in intercultural contexts, which deviate from the traditional lecture, has been one of the mechanisms orchestrated to enable dialogues and ruptures in colonial thinking. The use of audiovisuals has made it possible to approach elements such as identity, culture, ethnic-racial relations, racism and Afro-diasporic relations. In this sense, this work arises from the following concern: what are the possibilities of working with ethnic-racial films as pedagogical tools in Quilombola School Education? For this, in an essay style, we propose to analyze the possibilities of ethnic-racial films as pedagogical tools in Quilombola School Education. As secondary objectives, we propose to reflect on the documents that guide education towards ethnic-racial relations; discuss films and the teaching of African History in Quilombola School Education and present the possibilities of films with ethnic-racial themes. This work has an exploratory qualitative approach and for the interpretation of information, film analysis. The results showed that it is possible to build dialogic and educational proposals to work in intercultural contexts; there is the possibility of working in the classroom with films from the perspective of ethnic-racial relations; Films are collaborative instruments to debate racism, prejudice, discrimination and stereotypes, and the use of films reinforces the implementation of Law 10.639/03.
