A LOOK AT THE SKIN COLOR IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RACIAL QUOTAS IN A PEDAGOGY COURSE IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL
Main Article Content
Abstract
This qualitative investigation is a documentary case study, permeated by the biography of a black university student, in a living writing about the implementation of Law 12711/2012, the Racial Quota Act. Data are presented on the number of freshmen and graduates, by racial quotas, from 2016 to 2021, in the Undergraduate Teaching Course in Pedagogy, at the UERGS Unit of the North Coast of Rio Grande do Sul. The study revealed that, of the 33 racial quota vacancies offered in five years, in accordance with the legislation, only seven were accessed by black people. Of these vacancies, four are still in use, two have been abandoned and only one ethnic-racial quota student has already graduated, which evidences a delay in completing the course.
