BARRIERS AND PERSPECTIVES FOR TEACHING AFRO-BRAZILIAN AND INDIGENOUS CULTURE IN SCHOOLS: QUESTIONS BASED ON THE EXPERIENCE OF INDIGENOUS TEACHERS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Based on the lecture given by the indigenous-teacher Sandra Benites - Guarani Nhandewa, during the 4th Anniversary of NEABI-UENF (29 and 30/07/2016), the report presents the experience of the author, as a pedagogical coordinator in the education network of Maricá, RJ, contrasted with the specificities of her Guarani knowledge and ways of life. Sandra Benites describes, in a sensitive and critical way, the challenges faced in her trajectory as a teacher, analyzing the potentialities and the challenges of the agency of the Law 11.645/2008 against racism and historical prejudice against indigenous peoples in the school environment.
