Abstract

We propose with this text to show actions carried out in a municipal public school located in one of the most populated neighborhood on the outskirts of Angra dos Reis, in which we develop our an educational work, more specifically in the early years of Elementary School. The project aims to promote Law 11.645/08 in the classroom, allowing students access to African, Afro-Brazilian, indigenous histories and cultures thus stimulating and provoking, in our children, the perception of diversity and, above all, its valuation. In this specific text we will bring the project that originated it, the project “Outras Histórias”, whose main objective was to sharpen, not only the taste for reading, but also to instigate stories with indigenous and black protagonisms, still not so common in the school universe, despite being of extreme urgency given its relevance in the construction of an anti-racist education. We will also report our participation in a conversation circle promoted by NEABI/UENF in 2020.
