SAMBA DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE NOTE: LEARNING FROM SAMBA
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main purpose of this article is to promote reflections on the importance of samba as a didactic-pedagogical instrument in the context of an education for ethnic-racial relations and for the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture recommended by Law 10.639/2003 and its national curriculum guidelines, in order to highlight relevant aspects of samba such as black and diasporic culture. For this, we present samba as a culture of resistance and social affirmation of blacks in Brazilian society, in addition to musical genres, in the context of diasporic cultural practices with characteristics common with other black songs, besides contemplating the importance of women's protagonism as part of the process of reproduction of teachings and values that are present through orality.
