Main Article Content
Abstract
This work investigated the perception of two Chemistry teachers from the Reference Center for Youth and Adult Education in Aracaju / SE on the relevance of racial issues through data constructed from semi-structured interviews and analyzed by textual-discursive analysis methodology (ATD) under the framework of Decoloniality, studies of the Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations and research involving the teaching of Chemistry and Law 10.639 / 03. Based on the analysis of the data, it was identified that teachers give importance to the theme according to their life experiences and, consequently, their perception of racism. Therefore, there is an urgent need to invest in continuing decolonial teacher training to enable them to deal positively with racial issues in the classroom.
