Abstract

This study presents survey that aimed to demonstrate how it is being addressed, in the Plans of Institutional Development (PID) of the institutions that compose the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education, the themes related to Ethnic and Racial Issues, Diversity, Sexual guidance and Genders. It is an investigation through documentary analysis of quantitative and qualitative nature that may be characterized as exploratory and descriptive, and was performed by the comparative analysis of PIDs elaborated to being utilized from 2009 to 2013 and from 2014 to 2018, on average, having as descriptors words related to the research topics. The Law No. 11.892/2008, which created these Federal Institutes, as well as in Decree 3.860/2001 and 5.773/2006, which established as mandatory for all higher education institutions the preparation of PIDs, central element of the research, were also the base of this study. The obtained results enabled to propose premises for the creation and implementation of a system of institutional development that incorporates, in addition to professional and technological themes, topics and discussions related to human issues and combat discrimination and inequalities.
