Abstract

Some studies have shown an increase in the participation of blacks and blacks in higher education in Brazil. It is known that this increase is not fair for all areas of knowledge. This article presents some results of a pilot research, whose objective was to identify elements of the trajectory of training and performance of blacks who holds teaching position in postgraduate programs on Computer Science in Brazil. Through questionnaire and interviews, we identified qualitative elements that characterize the academic trajectory of black teachers in Computer Science. The intent and perspective is to foster further studies on race and gender relations in Computer Science; besides offering some subsidies for new researches and affirmative actions aimed at increasing the black population in the teaching profession in the fields of exact sciences in Brazil.
