PROSPECTS FOR AN ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION - SANKOFA AND THE TEACHING OF CHEMISTRY

Abstract
Here is profile from research master’s degree that focuses completion epistemic displacement in Teaching Chemistry. We use meaning Sankofa, ADINKRA symbol, to explain that current situation of negro comes from overlapping which have occurred in past. It is participant research afrocentricity focused on that uses a pedagogical intervention (IP) Teaching Chemistry order to implement Law 10.639/03. IP used Africans knowledge around vitamin C to minimize symptoms of scurvy during diasporic crossing. Our results demonstrated student’s participation who have understood relation presented between Brazilian-African knowledge present field in Brazil food and Chemical knowledge. Results also suggest that we need to rethink relationship chemical knowledge and ethnic-racial diversity in order to promote an anti-racist education.
