THE TEACHING PERCEPTION REGARDING EDUCATION FOR RACIAL RELATIONS: A CASE STUDY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This text presents an analysis of pedagogical practices linked to Law 10.639/03, which established the obligation to teach history and black culture in schools. The research described here results from a case study that investigated the perception of the teachers of a public school in the state of Goiás, located in the poor periphery of the city of Goiânia, on the relevance of racial themes in school education. This study sought to address the question of the teacher's view of their racial-related educational practices, about the initial and continuing education they received, with a focus on preparation for work on the racial issue and also their impressions on the social and racial context in which the school field of research and its students are inserted.
