Abstract

The meanings attributed to the maroon phenomenon in Brazil, as well as your agency reflected the possibilities of building a specific school form, the maroon education. This text deals with the relationship between the school and the community in a remnant maroon territory. For this purpose, we use elaborations built from research carried out with a maroon community and their school, in the Jequitinhonha Valley, in the State of Minas Gerais. It should be noted that this is not the presentation of a maroon school model, or the parameters of this school form running. We seek to reflect on the elements that, in the specific case, are combined in order to elucidate tensions and propose new perspectives for what we now regard as maroon school education
