YOUTH CULTURE AND SCHOOL: FUNK AS PEDAGOGICAL AND IDENTITY TOOL FOR BLACK YOUTH IN RIO DE JANEIRO
Main Article Content
Abstract
A youthful cultural expression of great relevance in the cultural scene in Rio de Janeiro, Funk is one of the possibilities of appreciation of the knowledge brought by young people to the school space, as well as a pedagogical tool that contributes to the implementation of Law 10639/03. In this context, we seek to problematize their tensions that are articulated to Brazilian racism, in addition to highlighting the importance of this cultural movement as an identity marker for a large part of youth. Funk emerges from the gaps of a historically exclusionary society, making it possible for juvenile protagonism and expressivity to face a reality that presents itself as not very promising for these subjects in it precariously and/or subalternly inserted. Thus, we highlight the valorization of the socio-cultural experience of its public and its potential identity often invisibilized in school spaces.
