SCHOOL AND ETHNIC-RACIAL DIVERSITY: THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAW 10.639/ 2003 IN THE CITY OF CONSELHEIRO LAFAIETE IN MINAS GERAIS

Abstract
The research propose is the analisis of Law 10.639/2003 enforcement in state schools, established in the city of Conselheiro Lafaiete, Minas Gerais. The proposal involved the application of questionnaires to 430 primary school students and 15 History teachers. The questions address affirmative policies, prejudice and the teaching of History in the school environment. The research allows us to understand the challenges for the enforcement of this initiative and suggests pedagogical alternatives for confronting racist imaginary, discourses and practices. The idea performing this study is that the articulation with other spaces of resistance and ancestrality present in the city can help the process of recognizing the historically marginalized subjects in the Brazilian educational field.
