Abstract
O tema dos quilombos tem atravessado programas de estudos em várias áreas do conhecimento. Neste dossiê apresentamos um painel de reflexões na área de educação – objeto que ganhou envergadura, fundamentalmente no diálogo das políticas públicas e legislação educacional. A idéia foi reunir pesquisas e estudos diversos – cobrindo várias partes do Brasil – que refletissem experiências complexas de ensino, contexto social, impasses e avanços da educação quilombola. Há também contribuições comparativas (especialmente sobre Colômbia) e ensaios sobre os significados dos quilombos e seus usos na esfera política.
