DENY, SILENCE, DELTE: MANAGEMENT SCHOOL FRONT OF AN ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION - A CASE STUDY
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study approaches the perceptions of school management about racism in school, seeking to highlight the importance of the ethnic-racial approach in the pedagogical practices of teachers and management, with a focus on legal systems - in particular Law 10.639/2003, and Its relation with professional ethics, a requirement for democratic management. We chose as reference the debate about racial relations, anti-racist education and school management, among them: Gomes, Munanga, Fernandes, Quijano, Cury and Filice. In an exploratory way, we observed moments of coexistence and conducted an interview with the direction of a school in the Federal District, in order to identify the perceptions of the management, and of the institution as a whole, about approaching racial issues in their practices. We conclude that school management, even aware of the requirement for an antiracist approach in the teaching, althought does not consider it important, becomes a hindrance to such approaches, relegating to solitary work professionals who do not adhere to their silencing.
