Main Article Content
Abstract
In this paper, we carry out a resumption of the experiences in a course of further studies in the History of Africa and African-Brazilian Cultures for public school (state and municipal) teachers, as well as a dialogue with the practice of such experiences and their influence on teaching practice in the classrooms. We also explain the gap that still exists in relation to the appropriation (by teachers) of concepts such as race, racism and racial prejudice, and the need to overcome setbacks in the search for professionals focused on the social reality and on the struggle for the an education that includes race and ethnic diversity in the right perspective.
