Abstract

The goal of this paper is to present some reflections from my PhD thesis on how the African-Brazilian theme is dealt with in the Pedagogy Course in the State University of Paraíba, campus I, in Campina Grande, Paraíba. The methodology of the study was the research on/from/with everyday life situations (ALVES, 2008), and through the observations of conversations of eight practitioners (CERTEAU, 2007) – four black students and four black professors – about their life histories and their narratives. The goal was to understand the woven webs in the training of teachers. The results point to the need of deepening the theme in the scope of the course and the resonance of more involved people; once, in this aspect, the awareness of committed teachers will allow a continuous and systematic work, ensuring a better formation.
