Abstract

Parity and racial asymmetry in researches on racial relations are the main subjects of this paper, which was written based on experiences of a female white researcher who interviewed white and black people, of a black male researcher that lived among white Portuguese researchers, and of a black woman researcher who did her research on black people. The authors’ experiences show that both racial parity and racial asymmetry throughout the researchers’ interaction with different people in the studies of racial relations can be important to highlight different aspects of the Brazilian racial relations. Each one input in a singular way in this particular area of research that still has to be enhanced in Brazil.
