Abstract
Affirmative action policies have been monitored and evaluated, especially through numerical indicators of access and performance monitoring of quota students, but little is examined and produced about the changes planned for universities in normative and curricular documents about the ethno-racial relations. Thus, this article presents data from a study that analyzes the adoption of affirmative action in higher education in Brazil and the impact of such a measure in the curricular structure of these institutions. For this, was performed a bibliographical and documentary survey on the adoption of the theme in the curriculum framework which found that racial issues appear peripherally in the curriculum of undergraduate courses and are embryonic in the extension
