Abstract

This documentary study, exploratory and interpretative in nature, addresses the High School Reform (Law No. 13.415/2017). Focusing on class and race, we sought to observe the structures of the reform and compare them with the educational proposals constituting the Black Youth Alive Plan – PJNV (2024), which aims to meet the educational needs of the Black population and also serve as a resource for historical reparation. Our fundamental interest was to discuss the precariousness of the Reform as a public policy instituted for the education of poor and Black youth in Brazil, and the importance of the PJNV Viva (Brazil, 2024) as a space for the active voice of Black youth and in the constitution of alternative, dissenting, and complementary educational proposals to the curricular programs of state public schools.
