Abstract

The Encontro de Saberes (Meeting of Knowledges) is an innovative project launched at the University of Brasília (UnB), which seeks to integrate traditional knowledge from Indigenous, Quilombola, and other community masters into academic education, fostering a dialogue between scientific and popular knowledges. This article examines the project's progress and challenges, discussing how it attempts to decolonize the university while facing institutional resistance. We address its four dimensions (ethnic-racial, political, pedagogical, and epistemic), provide practical examples of implementation, and highlight the risks of superficial inclusion. We conclude with proposals to strengthen the project, ensuring that traditional knowledges are not merely incorporated but have a real impact on transforming academia.
