LETRAMENTO RACIAL E FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES DA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article analyzes the training of early childhood education teachers regarding racial literacy, focusing on schools located in urban peripheries of the Federal District. The research, part of a final course project at the University of Brasília (UnB), investigates how such training can help combat discriminatory practices and promote inclusive education. An exploratory study was conducted with three public school teachers, and the data were analyzed using Content Analysis. The results indicate that both theoretical and practical training are essential for developing critical awareness of ethno-racial relations. However, the lack of racial literacy among teachers limits their ability to address complex issues related to race. The study highlights the importance of integrating racial themes into teacher education from the initial stages through ongoing professional development.
