Abstract

We have witnessed in recent years in society in general and in the education field in particular the formulation of different affirmative policies, and in particular the policy of quotas for blacks in college for insertion of the black population in higher education. Nevertheless, the increasing presence of blacks in the university does not happen in a "peaceful" way, this insert is marked by controversy, discussions and racial tensions between blacks and whites. The objective of this work is to show that beyond racial quotas, whose objectives are to include socio-educational, valorization of the socio-cultural identity of the colored population, still perpetuates discrimination and racism, as well as what Erving Goffman calls "stigma ", that is, we tried to analyze the institutionalized racial inequalities. Thus, on the subjective plane or imaginary of the individuals perpetuates the image of the individual colored bearer as one character less framing them in the lower levels of society.
