Abstract

The article is a result of a participant observation in a classroom of afro-Brazilian history and culture in the East Zone of São Paulo. Our purpose is to describe the learning process of the students, focusing on the white students, and the content about race relations presented in class in order to understand the reaction about the topic of whiteness. Our collaborators, when they get in contact with the theme, they question their own identities.
