We seek to attend what says the law 10.639, which established in 2003 the obligation of teaching the African and African-Brazilian history and culture in elementary school. This work had as methodological resource the realization of activities that contemplated the inclusion in the school curriculum the history of African cultural legacy, which allowed a group of children reaches new concepts about being black. Our aim was to unite carrying out activities to action-research with a view to build a pedagogical approach to the teaching of Africanities at school. Face of what was exposed we conclude that it is urgent to implement the law, because the school must constitute in their spaces the discussion about racial-ethnic relations in order to break with racist thoughts and attitudes present inside.
