Pertencimento étnico-racial e educação no contexto afro diaspórico
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article reflects on the need for a paradigm shift based on African civilizational heritage as the principle of an educational process that recognizes the ethnic-racial diversity present in Brazilian society. This is a theoretical discussion that articulates reflections on racial-ethnic belonging, historical awareness, heritage, memory and identity, pointing out perspectives for building an education project that breaks with the Eurocentric paradigm and recognizes the black population as subjects with knowledge and rights. An important part of this process is the knowledge of the legal basis that underpins a proposal for anti-racist education, as well as the dialog with epistemologies that dialogue with the experiences lived in different territories and the ancestral legacy re-signified in the Afro-diasporic context. In this way, the field of knowledge production and the training processes of education professionals are questioned in dialogue with the historical demands of black movement organizations that have pointed to education as a strategic place for overcoming racist ideologies and re-reading how race relations have been constructed in Brazilian society in order to build structural changes in the living conditions of these groups.
