Abstract

This article presents reflections on how we can rethink Geography in a critical way to achieve the construction of methods and methodologies within the field of study of Black Geographies. The central objective is to discuss the possibilities of this teaching and geographic field of research to become visible, as it happens with other fields of scientific research in the area, and remove the weight of perspectives shaped by colonial inheritances and referenced by racist epistemic models. As a methodology adopted, I indicate the “escrevivências” issues coined by Conceição Evaristo. The method that has been proposed involves perspectives "from within" of Guimarães (2015), which in recent years has been improved in search of an increasingly blackened epistemological body. Broadening this discussion is to insert feeling, thinking and being black in teaching and geographic research so that the histories, cultures and knowledge of colonized and enslaved socio-racial groups can be part of affirmative spatial analyzes.
