Abstract

The ethnocentrism in the philosophy of history is well known. The reputation of the thoughts of Western philosophers did not benefit the contribution of non-Western epistemologies, enhancing the lack of a philosophy in African cultures, as well as the exclusion of what was of black culture in world history. This Eurocentrism is based in part on racism present in Western philosophy and evolutionism that developed the biological category of race. Much of what some philosophers says about the inferiority of African culture and justification for domination of the African peoples finds its foundation here. This work, in this sense, seeks to develop an exposure of the relevant passages in the thought of important Western philosophers, exposing how they developed exclusion logic. The arguments that philosophy is contaminated by this causal role in using a biological category, namely the race, showing that many of the leading thinkers who we studied in our academies are also the disseminators of a racist ideology. In this sense, it points to the need for our academies are receptive to African and diaspora.
