MULHERES NEGRAS DE TERREIRO E A CONTRIBUIÇÃO DE UMA PERSPECTIVA INTERSECCIONAL PARA A JUSTIÇA SOCIAL
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present article is written by three black women who work as researchers and are practitioners of terreiro religions. We will address the reality of black women in Brazil based on the works of González (1984) and Carneiro (2019). We then turn our attention to the experiences of women who worship religions of African origin, with references to Botelho and Nascimento (2011) and Botelho and Stlader (2013). Finally, the text reflects on the teachings transmitted by these women, using intersectional critical theory (Collins and Bilge 2021; Collins, 2021; 2022) and the concept of ancestral pedagogy (Machado, 2023), highlighting their importance for black girls and women, social movements, academia and society in general.
