AFRICAN PSYCHOLOGY AND AFROCENTERED CLINICAL: STRATEGIES AND METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to contribute to the field of African Psychology in the afrocentered clinic, presenting methodological tools for intervention in psychotherapy in the care of black people. We present theoretical-methodological discussions for understanding psychological processes and Afro subjectivity: terreiro epistemologies, quilombism in psychotherapy, black spirituality, black love, transforming pain and angry into potency, “orientation”, ubuntu and ethics, African proverbs, sankofa and afrofuturism. The writing of this article involved the following procedures: 1) theoretical research; 2) Afrocentered experiences in the contexts of clinical psychology as a psychotherapist, supervisor and patient; 3) participant observation in marches to value black aesthetics and curly empowerment; 4) ancestral knowledge of terreiros of African origin; and 5) my writings as a black woman
