PIONEERING IN BRAZILIAN PSYCHOANALYSIS: THE LEGACY OF VIRGINIA LEONE BICUDO
Main Article Content
Abstract
The main objective of this work is to analyze the legacy of Virginia Leone Bicudo as a pioneer in Brazilian psychoanalysis and also to understand and reflect on the causes of the author's invisibility in the academic and psychoanalytic context. A bibliographic review of scientific articles, book chapters and videos from the YouTube platform was used as a research method. From then on, the incomprehensible silence on the part of the psychoanalytic movement and the academy in relation to it was discussed. The conclusion is that the trajectory of Virgínia Bicudo is important not only for psychoanalysis, but points to a need to revisit and include academic references that are more socially and historically involved, which contain themes related to racial relations, legitimizing these reflections in a space of scientific knowledge.
