III NEABI ANNIVERSARY: INTERVIEW WITH NOINHA DO JONGO

Abstract
Geneci Maria da Penha, known as Noinha do Jongo, was honored at the 3rd Anniversary of the Nucleus of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies (NEABI) of the Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF). Born in 1944, the important figure of Jongo in the North and Northwest Fluminense region, released an autobiography in 2010, which articulates his life trajectory and the history of Jongo in his hometown. In 2011, Jongo de Noinha was recognized as Intangible Heritage of Campos dos Goytacazes by the National Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN). Four years after the recognition, in 2015, Neabi proposed to present to the academic community, studies and practices of cultural manifestation, which has resisted for centuries in Campos dos Goytacazes and region.
