THE AFRO-BRAZILIAN AND INDIGENOUS STUDIES CENTER AT THE NORTHERN FLUMINENSE STATE UNIVERSITY DARCY RIBEIRO AND THE FIGHT AGAINST RACISM
Main Article Content
Abstract
This experience report aims to present the main actions developed by the Nucleus for Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Studies at the North Fluminense State University Darcy Ribeiro (NEABI/UENF) in its trajectory, understanding it as a training space for the education of ethnic-racial relations and combating racism in its multiple forms. We will describe important aspects of the experience accumulated since its foundation in March 2012, highlighting the commemorative events of the anniversaries that occurred between 2013 and 2021. We realize that NEABI-UENF has been an important space of (in) formation and insertion in the antiracist struggle, in the fight against structural and institutional racism, not only at the university where it is inserted, but also in the regions of North and Northwest Fluminense.
