VISIBILITY OF OLD-AGED BLACK PEOPLE USING THE SOCIOPOETICS

Abstract
This essay purposes the qualitative research on Sociopoetics approach as a possibility for emphasizing the protagonism of old-aged black people and their ways of existence. This approach may reveal the social invisibility about the issues of aging and blackness, bringing new perspectives on scientific research. Furthermore, it may be a strategy to expand the possibilities for social justice and plural academics points of view, evidencing the speech and the bodies that integrate the investigated group. Therefore, this work aims to expand the visibility of old-aged black people and to contribute to decolonize studies on this area, as a counterpoint to the hegemonic theories about the aging process.
