Abstract
The aim of this article is to describe the trajectory and motives of a black activist to be a human rights defender. The research used a qualitative, descriptive type. In theoretical terms, the focus was on motivation for volunteering, and intersectionality. The study allows us to reflect on race relations in Brazil and the importance of human rights and activism, since there are several widely neglected rights, such as gender and race inequality.
