TWO-DIMENSIONAL ANTI-BLACK RACISM “SCIENCE” AND DECONSTRUCTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this article, the two-dimensional, conscious-unconscious anti-black racism is discussed, going back to its 'scientific' origins. Classical racialists like Blumenbach, Le Bon, Lapouge, and Gobineau made the European the universal model of man. This elevation created a powerful ideological tool of domination because it promoted, based on craniology and genetics, the supposed superiority of European man over others. This fallacious construction especially nourished in academic circles a Eurocentric anthropological ontology whose results are still present in Brazilian society today. Scientific anti-black racism needs to be shown, fought, and deconstructed because the human species is one.
