Abstract

Abstract: The article is part of a dissertation on cooperativism in Guinea-Bissau, having as a collaborating agent the Agricultural Cooperative of Young Staff (Coajoq). Our objective is to present to the reader how cooperativism served as a mechanism and spaces of socioeconomic emancipation of young people in the cacheu region. For this, we made the use of a conceptual historical perspective of the concept emancipation in dialogue with document analysis and interview about and at Coajoq. The question that mobilizes us is this: how do Coajoq's activities influence processes of socioeconomic emancipation in the communities of the Cacheu region? Therefore, it is considered that emancipatory actions besides being different with the Western notion in Africa are loaded with a notion of solidarity - Ubuntu, in which the collective is always at a game of affirmation. Thus, Coajoq's actions assume, in this collective, the emancipatory role, in the generation of new knowledge and experiences that aim to expand the freedom to generate new aspirations, utopian in young people and women in tabancas.
