Abstract

This article analyzes the Atlantic demography of African slavery and ethnomusicology in the diaspora. Based on travelers' reports, sources about Africans on ships, newspaper advertisements for runaways, iconographies, images of material culture, we analyzed the making of the African diaspora in the city of Rio de Janeiro in the 19th century.
