Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present reflections on the concept of genocide, as well as the context in which it arose and how it has developed throughout history. From the twentieth century, a period marked by many deaths, to the current Brazilian reality in which the term is used to refer to the death of young black-peripheral subjects, one perceives the need to critically analyze the construction of the term related to the facts present. That is, the Brazilian case is about genocide?

Daniel Péricles Arruda, UNIFESP e PUC-SP

Pós-doutorando em Psicologia Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, vinculado ao Núcleo de Pesquisas em Lógicas Institucionais e Coletivas (Nuplic), Doutor em Serviço Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2017), Mestre em Serviço Social pela mesma instituição como bolsista do Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (2012) e possui graduação em Serviço Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (2008). Atualmente, é Professor do curso de graduação em Serviço Social da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), campus Baixada Santista, vinculado ao Departamento de Saúde, Clínica e Instituições e Professor do curso de graduação em Serviço Social e do curso de pós-graduação em Gestão em Políticas Públicas e Projetos Sociais do Centro Universitário Assunção (UNIFAI). Áreas de interesse/pesquisa: cultura hip-hop, relações étnico-raciais, juventude, invisibilidade, reconhecimento. Rapper e poeta conhecido como Vugo Elemento.
