FEAST AND FAITH IN THE CELEBRATION OF THE OURO PRETO CONGADO

Abstract
The Congado is a cultural and religious manifestation that has been in Brazil since the end of the seventeenth century, and still today it has been demonstrated with great vigor in Minas Gerais. In addition, this article will analyze the feast held by the Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary and Santa Efigênia of Alto da Cruz in the city of Ouro Preto. In this way, you will observe how the congadeiros share faith and celebration, tradition and modernity, maintenance and renewal.
