WILL THE WHITES BE ABLE TO RESIST?
Main Article Content
Abstract
This essay arises from an invitation to lecture at the I Symposium on African and Afro-Brazilian Literature, at the end of the so-called Black November in Brazil. Back then, under the aftermaths of the presidential elections of 2018, I ought to discuss the enormous violence on our bodies since the old times of enslavement and colonialism in comparison with the very desperation on whites after the election. The way which has positioned me in there as a writer put me a challenge: I should position a wake for that audience (most of whites) in order for them to see a resistance to fascism that has been born because it resisted to centuries of racism. Should the whites do the same?
