Main Article Content
Abstract
This research is part of a master's thesis and aims to understand the motivations of Afro-Peruvian youth to begin activism in Ashanti Peru, the largest organization of Afro-descendant youth in Peru, and to analyze their entry process for political participation. The problem of the absence of young Afro-Peruvian and Afro-Peruvian leaders who can contribute to the struggle of the Afro-Peruvian population in political spaces is motivating the Afro-Peruvian movement to focus on the importance of promoting generational change, and that Afro-Peruvian youth continue the struggle for the human rights of Afro-descendants. In the research, the main instrument of data collection was the development of a focus group applied to the leaders of Ashanti Peru in Lima.
