BLACK WOMEN. VOICES, SILENCES AND RESISTANCES: ONCE AGAIN ABOUT THE CUBAN EXPERIENCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
It is necessary to identify the main transformations in the fight against racism in Cuba, which involve the black women population. The first of these is the expansion of activism, which is no longer mainly focused in the socio-cultural sphere. There are initiatives for recognition and repair, aimed from academies with high leadership of black women. Among the most important ones we can mention the workshops on racial relations and inequality sponsored by the Center for Psychological and Sociological Research [CIPS] and Harvard University stand out, the first International Graduate School CLACSO on Afro-descendants and the creation of the Chair of Afro-descendant Studies at CIPS. The trend is to have greater articulation in the links between academies and activism.
