Abstract

This article intends to investigate aspects of the trajectory of the intellectual José Augusto Gonçalves da Silva (Neninho de Obaluaê). He was a political prisoner in the period of dictatorship (1964-1985) and coordinator of the first Center of Struggle of the Unified Black Movement within the prison, as well as glimpses the heterogeneity of black social movements. In this sense, the article aims to align the testimonial narrative, printed in the work "Alley Without Exit" (1999) and present different black organizations to promote the group. It should be noted that the methodology was adopted on the discursive analysis of the interviews and testimonies, as well as the literature review on the subject.
