Abstract
The article considers the origin of the debate in psychology on the interest in studies on black in Brazil. He observes the ways in which science organizes the fields of discussion by privileging socially empowered groups in the national scene and disregarding the inaugural intellectual references of the discussion about the field and which, as Milton Santos would say, do not share pragmatic behavior and technical reasoning, which runs counter to the efforts of understanding of the world.
