Main Article Content
Abstract
The present paper is a synthesis of researches, which have been done in the past few years, on documentary films. The goal is to reflect on racial prejudice and the representation of the black people portrayed in these films. Based on the theories from Language Studies, we discuss the following issues: the validity of the usage of such film genre and filmography in classrooms; the possibilities of raising the debate on ethnic and racial subjects in Brazil, and the consequent implementation of Law 10.639/2003.
